My Cherries from my tree and I made Little Pies!!!

Here is my bowl full of my first picking of cherries from my tree!!
Here are the cherries all pitted and mixed with 2 cups of sugar, 2 tbs flour and 1/4 tsp salt
I made my crust using 2 1/4 cups butter, 4 cups flour, 1 tbs sugar, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 2/3 cup cold water, 1 tsp vinegar and 2 tbs sour cream. Mix all dry ingredients first then cut in butter and add all liquids and sour cream together. Mix the liquids with the flour butter mixture. Let it sit over night. I used the small red bowl in the picture as my cutter for the perfect sized circles.
I placed a large spoonful of cherries in the center of each circle. I placed another circle on top using a fork to crimp the top and bottom together.
I mixed 1 egg with a tbs of milk and brushed the top of each pie. I pricked the top with a fork for vent holes  and sprinkled with vanilla sugar.
I baked them in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.
The crust batch made 10 pies but I still had cherries left over so made a cherry cobbler!!

Tomorrow I will be posting my swap with Sheila Babneau, "Seasons of Thy Heart" blog!!!
